Marine Operations Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Operations Specialist to join our team at RWE AG. As a key member of our offshore wind installation team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing installation logistics concepts for future projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement installation logistics concepts for offshore wind projects
  • Drive safety and quality initiatives for marine operations, establishing standards for vessels and offshore operations
  • Support RWE Renewables' activities in offshore development and construction, including conventional and floating offshore wind
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including procurement, technical, and regulatory teams
  • Conduct vessel inspections and evaluations
  • Assess and develop risk management strategies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Coordinate with external partners, including ship owners, operators, and classification societies
  • Develop and implement technical and economic evaluations of installation methods

Requirements:

  • Relevant maritime background as a nautical officer or navigator
  • Deep understanding and proven experience with various types of ship operations, including DP operations, heavy lifting, and jack-up operations
  • Experience in developing and maintaining safety management systems
  • Minimum five years of experience in project management in the maritime industry
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong teamwork, initiative, and motivation
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently within Europe, the USA, and APAC
  • Ability to work at sea and in high altitudes
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Structured thinking and ability to develop methods and procedures
