Job Description

As a key member of the Commercial Operations team at BRUSH Group, the Commercial Operations Engineer will play a critical role in the tendering process for our transformer portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all tender generation and internal hand-over activities, leveraging existing processes and tools to deliver compelling and compliant solutions in a timely manner while mitigating technical, commercial, and contractual risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tender Management: Leverage existing processes and tools to deliver high-quality tenders in a timely manner.
  • Risk Management: Identify and capture technical and commercial risks in accordance with defined commercial policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various functional teams to produce required tender inputs, including cost roll-ups, slot planning, and terms & conditions mark-ups.
  • Opportunity Pricing: Develop an opportunity pricing strategy that reflects customer value while fulfilling business objectives.
  • Business Approval: Identify risk mitigation strategies and seek necessary business approvals in compliance with commercial policies.
  • Documentation: Ensure that risk/governance processes are documented and followed.
  • Tender Submission: Generate and submit customer tenders/proposals.
  • Negotiation: Actively participate in customer negotiations to resolve technical and commercial issues and secure project orders.
  • Handover: Prepare and lead the associated purchase order handover process.
  • Record Management: Manage customer and opportunity records.
  • Process Improvement: Support the enhancement of commercial processes, tools, and policies to enable consistent and efficient pre-tender, tender, customer negotiation, and internal hand-over activities.
  • Cross-Functional Initiatives: Participate in 'capture teams' for strategic opportunities and support strategic cross-function initiatives.
  • Commercial Efficiency: Update pre-qualification documentation databases, join orders forecasting processes, participate in commercial efficiencies initiatives, and support external and internal audits.
  • Template Development: Provide inputs for the improvement of commercial templates and tools.
