School Attendance Support Specialist

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Attendance Support Specialist to join our team at Connex Education. As an Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting whole-school attendance and improving outcomes for students.
Duties and Responsibilities- Hold meetings with students to discuss their attendance and provide guidance on engaging with their education
- Work closely with families and external organizations to support students and address attendance issues
- Implement attendance monitoring and reporting systems to identify patterns of absence and develop strategies to improve attendance
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to promote the importance of regular attendance and reinforce its value in achieving academic success
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to identify and support students at risk of persistent absence
- Maintain accurate attendance records and generate reports as needed
- Assist in implementing the academy's attendance policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and external agencies
- A solution-focused mindset with the ability to motivate and support students
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in a similar attendance or pastoral support role is desirable
- Commitment to improving outcomes for all students
