Job Title: Strategic Lead for Clinical Governance

Barnardo's is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our clinical governance efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure the highest standards of clinical care and governance across our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical governance policies and procedures
  • Lead the creation of a new Clinical Governance Framework
  • Provide strategic leadership for clinical governance and quality
  • Support the Directorship in the development and delivery of strategies pertaining to clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement
  • Lead the clinical governance agenda and develop robust systems in clinical governance and quality
  • Support performance reporting to commissioners
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and external standards
  • Develop assurance systems to identify evidence-based and quality practice
  • Work with Children's Services and Business Development Unit to identify clinical governance requirements
  • Develop an integrated approach to ensure clinical governance, quality, and compliance meet commissioner expectations
  • Be a subject expert for knowledge and provide guidance to staff
  • Engage with Senior Management Teams to develop and implement changes as required
Requirements:
  • Professional registration with NMC, HCPC, or other AHP registration (current)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership or management position
  • Leadership or management qualification or equivalent recent experience
  • Educated to Masters level (desirable)
  • Overall understanding of Early Years and Integrated Child & Family Health
  • Experience of working within Clinical Governance within the NHS or equivalent
  • Understanding of the broader NHS landscape and current reforms
