An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Psychologist to work in a leading mental health hospital in the UK. You will be working for a reputable healthcare provider, offering acute mental health services and a community-focused ward.
This hospital supports males of working age experiencing an acute mental health episode, providing the necessary levels of care required during crises.
To be considered for this position, you must hold a degree in Psychology and be registered with the HCPC.
As the Senior Psychologist, your key responsibilities include:
- Providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions to clients and their families, as well as offering indirect clinical services such as advice and consultation to colleagues and other professionals.
- Contributing towards the development and ongoing offer of the IROC service, including identifying need and participating in development planning.
- Supporting staff supervision and facilitating client-related work undertaken by other team members.
- Being involved in the development and delivery of training to staff and other stakeholders/professionals as required.
- Supporting the development of research and evaluation processes.
- Ensuring Clinical Governance and operational policies are adhered to, while working autonomously as required.
- Ensuring all aspects relating to Continuing Professional Development are met to maintain clinical registration.
The following skills and experience would be beneficial for the role:
- Demonstrable previous professional practice experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Additional expertise such as DBT and CBT.
- Skills in individual and group work and in program planning.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information.
