About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Project Management Consultant - Mechanical Sector to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical handling and mooring design and manufacturing works.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will also have excellent communication, influencing, and people management skills, as well as a developing knowledge of commercial and financial considerations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical handling and mooring design and manufacturing works.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Manage and oversee the procurement of packages, review and appoint subcontractors, and provide support to construction managers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting any risks, challenges, and mitigations to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, project management, and procurement processes.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, such as CDM 2015, PUWER 1998, and LOLER 1998.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and experience in managing trade work packages.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and people management skills.
  • A developing knowledge of commercial and financial considerations, including carbon and sustainability considerations.
  • Relevant degree qualifications or BTEC/HNC in an engineering/marine discipline, and CSCS certification.
  • Nuclear and defence experience preferable.
