Job Description

Cloister Resourcing is seeking an experienced Environmental Lawyer to join our team as a Regulatory and Environment Solicitor. As an Environmental Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing focused, accurate, and timely legal advice, analysis, and support to our clients on a range of environmental aspects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dealing with a wide range of environmental legal matters, including:
    • Assisting with legal aspects of resource management
    • Assisting with Environmental Information Regulation queries
    • Managing external legal resources
  • Leading a team of two to three people, providing strategic input, setting policy, and recommending improvements to processes and procedures within the business
  • Providing legal and practical advice in a clear and usable way, enabling others to understand key facts and issues
  • Identifying areas of risk for the company in relation to environmental and related regulatory matters and implementing solutions to manage these risks
  • Drafting complex legal documents in relation to environmental, planning, and related regulatory matters
Requirements:
  • Previous environmental legal experience is essential
  • Knowledge of statutory and environmental regulations within the UK would be beneficial
  • The ability to interpret complicated legal information in layman's terms
