We're seeking a visionary Co-Founder in Residence to join our team at Deep Science Ventures and drive innovation in climate entrepreneurship. As a key member of our Climate sector, you'll play a crucial role in developing and scaling high-impact ventures that address the pressing challenge of CO2 capture processes.
About the RoleAs a Co-Founder in Residence, you'll work closely with our team to identify and develop opportunities for entrepreneurship in the climate sector. Your expertise in CO2 capture processes will be instrumental in shaping our approach and driving innovation. You'll have the opportunity to work with a talented team of scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry experts to create and spin-out new companies that can make a meaningful impact on the climate crisis.
Requirements- PhD or equivalent industry R&D experience in mechanical or chemical engineering, with a passion for thermodynamics and fluid dynamics;
- In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies and constraints in CO2 capture processes, cooling and heating systems, or polymer science;
- Broad knowledge of climate technologies and processes;
- Industry-specific know-how, commercial knowledge, and network within the climate and related industries;
- Experience in building and scaling new technologies from concept to demonstration;
- Experience in raising funds from early-stage investors/VC;
- Experience in building and scaling a high-growth enterprise (leadership/C-suite roles).
- Access to optimised, purpose-built, proprietary tools, resources, and processes to help create high-impact ventures from scratch;
- Opportunity area-specific know-how from our network of Partners and Advisors;
- Up to £250k in investment to incorporate the new venture and develop early proof-of-concept data;
- Guaranteed income of £4,166 per month paid as a consultancy fee until the company is launched and the pre-seed investment is secured;
- Majority equity stake in the new company for you and your co-founders;
- Continuous post-spinout support, including fundraising, commercial partnerships, recruitment, and team-building;
- Collaborative support from dozens of Founders currently at DSV across sectors.
