Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at OA. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for the commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and associated battery solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out site visits for service and maintenance of UPS systems, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on all types, makes, and models of UPS, batteries, switchgear, and control systems, using up-to-date testing equipment and Flir technology.
  • Replace service parts in accordance with remedial documentation, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Commission new UPS and battery systems, including associated switchgear equipment, to ensure seamless integration and operation.
  • Conduct thorough battery testing, utilizing advanced testers and Flir equipment, to ensure optimal system performance and safety.
  • Support the business SLA requirements for breakdown response times, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to internal departments and customers, as required, to ensure seamless communication and resolution of issues.
  • Accurately complete all service visit reports, including detailed recommendations for remedial actions, and submit them within agreed deadlines.
  • Update the company CRM system with all relevant information, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Participate in the company on-call rota, providing 24/7 support and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and PPE control requirements, as outlined in specific on-site RAMS documentation, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct dynamic on-site risk assessments before commencing any work, ensuring a thorough understanding of potential hazards and risks.
  • Attend manufacturer training sessions to enhance knowledge and skill set, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Perform other reasonable duties or tasks as determined by the needs of the business, which may include UPS installations and battery replacements.
Requirements
  • Relevant electronic qualification and electrical experience.
  • ECS Card (not essential).
  • 5 years of experience working as a field engineer on UPS systems.
  • Experience with power electronics and medium voltage applications.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and colleagues.
  • Good personal organization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and IT for report writing and UPS system interrogation.
  • Strong sense of accountability.
