About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Estimator to join our Global Marine and Navy Business Unit at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch fire protection estimates for our esteemed domestic and international naval clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Craft Expert Estimates: Develop precise fire protection estimates tailored for international marine clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and showcasing our commitment to excellence.
  • Collaborate with Sales: Work closely with our sales team to manage enquiries, oversee ongoing projects, and track submitted quotations, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Client Engagement: Communicate effectively with marine clients to address inquiries, provide quotations, and resolve technical queries both verbally and in writing, promoting a culture of transparency and open communication.
  • Team Coordination: Partner with project managers and engineers to facilitate smooth contract handovers and address any contract-related questions, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Prepare detailed inquiries and negotiate quotations with sub-suppliers and subcontractors, leveraging our global network to secure the best possible deals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on marine regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in every project, upholding our commitment to quality and safety.
  • Global Interaction: Attend clarification meetings in client offices across the UK and overseas as necessary, demonstrating our ability to work effectively in a global environment.
Requirements
  • Fire Protection Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding of various fire protection systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Engineering Expertise: Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a strong understanding of technical principles and regulations.
  • Proven Estimating Experience: Demonstrable experience in preparing detailed estimates, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with marine regulatory standards, tender documentation, and contract deliverables.
