Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will oversee the delivery of commissioning, test and trials activities across multiple sites for the full range of SSC products. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive trial plans and coordinating with cross-functional teams to define trials objectives, gather and prioritise tech team data point requirements, collate and present necessary information, and identify requirements for each trial.

Leadership and Team Management
The successful candidate will lead a team of trials engineers, technicians, and support staff, providing guidance, direction, and support throughout the trials process to gather appropriate data and evidence. This role requires close collaboration with the QHSE team to conduct risk assessments and ensure all necessary safety and environmental measures and protocols are in place before and during trials. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with the Product, Design, Test and Validation, and Production teams to ensure trials are aligned with product development goals and specifications and appropriate metrics are used to gather and measure data.

Requirements and Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and possess suitable tickets and qualifications to enable the oversight and conduct of safe and efficient trials in sheltered and offshore waters. They will also have leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team, as well as a detailed understanding of operating risk management. Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for trials planning, data analysis, and reporting is also essential. Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, and resource management, are required. Previous marine or aerospace trials delivery experience is a must, and the successful candidate will also hold an RYA Marine Radio SRC.
