About the Role

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Hoare Lea, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects and driving business growth. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and project delivery.

Requirements

  • Chartered status or working towards chartered status as a mechanical engineer.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams of mechanical engineers.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential project risks.
