Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and caring Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our team in a local educational setting. As an ideal candidate, you will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to supporting the development of young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support:
    • Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the EYFS framework.
    • Provide one-to-one support to children as needed, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
    • Contribute to creating a stimulating learning environment, ensuring access to a wide range of materials and resources.
    • Observe and record children's progress, sharing feedback with teachers on their development and areas for improvement.
  2. Child Development:
    • Foster a nurturing atmosphere that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
    • Encourage independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning in children.
    • Support the development of language, literacy, numeracy, and other foundational skills through play-based and structured activities.
    • Assist with personal care routines, ensuring children's health and safety.
  3. Behavior Management:
    • Implement positive behavior management strategies, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
    • Use effective reinforcement techniques to manage challenging behavior.
  4. Parental Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
    • Participate in parent meetings, open days, and other school events as required.
  5. Administrative Duties:
    • Prepare and maintain learning resources and equipment.
    • Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining attendance records and updating individual learning plans.
  6. Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
    • Reflect on your practice and set goals for continuous improvement.
  7. Health and Safety:
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to school policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments of the learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Relevant qualifications in early childhood education (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Early Years Education and Care).
    • Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desirable:
    • Pediatric First Aid certification.
    • Experience working with children with special educational needs.

Salary: £22,500 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
