Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and caring Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our team in a local educational setting. As an ideal candidate, you will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to supporting the development of young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support:
- Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the EYFS framework.
- Provide one-to-one support to children as needed, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Contribute to creating a stimulating learning environment, ensuring access to a wide range of materials and resources.
- Observe and record children's progress, sharing feedback with teachers on their development and areas for improvement.
- Child Development:
- Foster a nurturing atmosphere that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
- Encourage independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning in children.
- Support the development of language, literacy, numeracy, and other foundational skills through play-based and structured activities.
- Assist with personal care routines, ensuring children's health and safety.
- Behavior Management:
- Implement positive behavior management strategies, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
- Use effective reinforcement techniques to manage challenging behavior.
- Parental Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
- Participate in parent meetings, open days, and other school events as required.
- Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and maintain learning resources and equipment.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining attendance records and updating individual learning plans.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
- Reflect on your practice and set goals for continuous improvement.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments of the learning environment.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Early Years Education and Care).
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Desirable:
- Pediatric First Aid certification.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs.
Salary: £22,500 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
