About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our team at Clays Venues. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional bar service and ensuring that every guest leaves with a lasting impression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Bar Manager in the smooth running of all aspects of the bar, including service, stock management, and staffing.
  • Supervise the bar team on a day-to-day basis to maintain coordinated and effective communication and delivery between the bar, floor, and kitchen.
  • Monitor the quality of the product and service delivered.
  • Assist the Bar Manager in controlling all aspects of stock management, including wastage, holding stock, perishable stock, and consumables.
  • Take initiative and demonstrate aptitude and desire to continue to further your career.
  • Ensure a safe environment for our team and our guests, ensuring we are always compliant in our licensing objectives.
  • Deputise for the Bar Manager in their absence.
  • Duty management responsibilities, including opening and closing the venue.
Requirements
  • 3 years' experience in a similar position is desirable.
  • Fire Warden and First Aid qualifications are not essential but would be beneficial.
  • Personal License is not essential but would be advantageous.
  • People management skills and extensive cocktail experience are essential.
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Honest with strong moral principles.
  • Take initiative, can solve problems calmly, and work well under pressure.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary of £30,000 plus a performance-related bonus and service charge with anticipated on-target earnings of £44,000.
  • 32 working days' holiday pro rata each year, including bank holidays, with an increasing allocation up to a maximum of 36 days with length of service.
