Job Description

Role Overview:

As a Student Care Assistant at Nurse Seekers, you will be responsible for providing a safe and caring environment for students. You will support the Pastoral & Boarding team in ensuring students follow school schedules and adhere to curfew.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build Strong Relationships: Develop positive relationships with students, supporting their academic, social, and personal development.
  • Curfew and Scheduling: Ensure students follow school schedules and adhere to curfew, working closely with the boarding team.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with staff on academic and pastoral issues, maintaining open communication and collaboration.
  • Incident Reporting: Monitor and manage incidents, logging records and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Leave Requests and Supervision: Manage leave requests and supervise younger students closely, maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Student Welfare: Actively promote and safeguard student welfare, reporting concerns to the safeguarding team.
  • Incident Handling: Handle incidents sensitively and participate in ongoing safeguarding training.

Person Specification:

  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of national and local boarding regulations, strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidentiality and Professionalism: Ability to manage difficult situations and maintain confidentiality, professional, and courteous in dealings with students, parents, and staff.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Holiday: 45 days, taken during college breaks.
  • Pension: St Andrews Pension Plan.
  • Training: Ongoing training in safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene.
