Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Registered Nurse to join our Oncology department at Beardwood Hospital in Blackburn. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that standards of patient care are consistently maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies and procedures.
- Work to maintain and enhance the customer service and satisfaction of service users.
- Promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees, and consultants, acting as an advocate to more junior members of the team.
- Deputise for the Sister/Charge Nurse and lead on clinical shifts where necessary.
- Provide individualised patient care, delivering excellent standards of care and advocacy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registered General Nurse level 1/Diploma/BSc in Nursing Studies.
- Evidence of relevant clinical professional development, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration.
- Mentorship Qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent).
- Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability.
- Post-registration SACT qualification.
- Excellent clinical applied knowledge, evidenced-based and taking account of national best practice standards.
- Basic workload/shift management skills.
- Maths, English GCSE at grades A-C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
- Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems.
- At least 18 months post-registration experience.
- Oncology experience is essential.
