About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker to join our team in Yorkshire and North East. As a Senior Supervising Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting and supervising foster families to meet the complex needs of looked-after young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality supervision and support to foster families to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Work closely with foster families to identify and address any challenges or concerns, and provide guidance and support to help them meet the needs of the children in their care.
  • Conduct regular visits to foster families to assess their ability to meet the needs of the children, and provide feedback and guidance to help them improve their practice.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with foster families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
  • Appropriate social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings.
  • Experience in supporting and supervising foster families to meet the complex needs of looked-after young people.
  • Proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
  • Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Children's Act and NMS Fostering Standards.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and self-organise efficiently.
  • Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars.
