About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Spire Nottingham. As a Paediatric HCA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people undergoing surgery or treatment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide pre and post-operative care to children and young people, assisting in their recovery and preparation for discharge.
  • Work alongside the nursing team to support children undergoing or preparing for surgery.
  • Ensure children feel safe and at ease in the environment through playful interaction and support.
  • Assist in delivering care to meet individual health and wellbeing needs.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information.
  • Develop own knowledge and skills, as well as those of others.
  • Promote best practice in health and safety and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with children in some capacity, ideally as a HCA.
  • Current phlebotomy skills would be an advantage.
  • Friendly and approachable manner.
