Mechanical Maintenance Specialist

New Resource Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Kirkby in Ashfield. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive mechanical and tooling service that ensures optimal asset integrity and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure 98% availability of manufacturing equipment through the implementation of the latest maintenance techniques.
- Diagnose and correct faults in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Deliver machine performance improvement projects, including design changes to eliminate repetitive faults.
- Support the development of colleagues by providing guidance on complex fault diagnosis.
- Ensure compliance with HSHE standards across departmental activities, contractors, and assets.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to safety and environmental protocols.
- Collaborate with Development Engineers and other team members on project teams to drive improvements in machine performance.
- Identify and introduce new technology into the business, working closely with equipment suppliers on specifications and acceptance.
- Implement technical improvements to enhance machine performance and reliability.
- Maintain and manage effective quality management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO9000 and ISO14001 standards.
- Ensure all drawings, specifications, and procedures are up to date and adhered to.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies to the business, maintaining a high awareness of technological advancements.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture within the team and the wider business.
- Utilise engineering standards and best practices such as RCM and Six Sigma to drive improvements.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing maintenance activity, preferably in a packaging products environment.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification or equivalent.
- Experience with injection moulding technology (essential) and blow moulding technology (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards and best practices (e.g. RCM, Six Sigma Green Belt).
- IT literate with proficiency in MS Office and CAD systems.
