Reliable CNC Maintenance Specialist for Plymouth Site

TQR seeks an experienced and skilled CNC Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Plymouth site. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supporting site production facilities through proactive and reactive maintenance of plant, equipment, and services.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond promptly to breakdowns, performing necessary repairs on existing plant and machinery as per production priorities.
- Identify recurring issues and collaborate with the team to implement corrective actions to eliminate root causes.
- Utilize CNC Controls and PLC Ladder logic to diagnose and rectify faults.
- Ensure Predictive Maintenance activities are completed within scheduled times, coordinating machine releases when required.
- Collaborate with production teams to assist with new machinery installations.
- Oversee the commissioning and decommissioning of machinery, as well as assisting with machinery moves.
- Promote and support Predictive Maintenance (PPM) / Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) across the site.
- Maintain open communication with production staff regarding updates on machine breakdowns, machine release from production for maintenance, and coordinate between outgoing and incoming maintenance shifts.
- Support production staff in providing breakdown assistance aligned with production priorities, ensuring risk assessments are conducted before starting work and reassessing if changes occur during the task.
- Ensure adherence to 100% compliance with working on tasks only after a risk assessment is in place.
- Meet individual KPIs and contribute to departmental 5S performance targets being met.
- Liaise with external contractors as needed.
- Accurately record machine repair details and stock electronically.
- Conduct risk assessments for all work tasks and provide contractor inductions.
- Act as a mentor for apprentices or new starters.
- A recognized Maintenance Apprenticeship coupled with relevant academic qualifications in an Engineering discipline (e.g., City and Guilds, HNC, HND).
- Recent experience as a Maintenance Engineer with proficiency in fault finding using CNC Controls and rectifying faults.
- Proficiency in PC applications.
- Risk assessment training.
- Excellent communication skills.
This role comes with a competitive salary of £32,643 (inclusive of 20% shift premium for rotating shifts). Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to train on static day shifts for a few weeks prior to transitioning to rotational shifts.
