Job Description

Job Title: Principal Configuration and Data Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Configuration and Data Manager to lead and manage the resource demands and set the strategies, policies, and procedures to support design and engineering activities covering aircraft modification and support programmes within Raytheon UK, Airborne ISR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish Configuration Control: Develop and implement tailored configuration control on development programmes and bids to ensure the successful delivery of the CM/DM requirements for any given contract.
  • Create Basis of Estimates: Create Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for CM and DM activities based on existing Raytheon 'Best practice' where possible for any future contract.
  • Review and Advise: Review and advise on toolsets and steps required to enable successful transformation from current manual processes to PLM-type toolset environment introducing product efficiencies and cost-effectivity.
  • Lead Configuration and Data Management Teams: Perform and oversee the activities of the Configuration and Data Management teams to ensure work is carried out on schedule. Review workload requirements for the execution of Configuration and Data Management on current and future programmes and ensure that adequate resource is in place to meet demands.
  • Work with Requirements Management Lead: Work in partnership with the Airborne ISR Requirements Management Lead across AIRBORNE ISR programmes to ensure an integrated approach to the management of baselines.
  • Oversee Configuration Control Boards: Oversee the use of Configuration Control Boards to control the establishment and subsequent change of configuration baselines.
  • Administer Internal Configuration Control Forums: Administer internal configuration control forums, including the production of agendas, facilitation of meetings, and documenting results.
  • Perform Document Control and Data Management: Perform document control and data management including the coordination, production, and delivery of all data items generated on the programs.
  • Ensure Programme Alignment: Ensure that Raytheon programme historical build data is stored and maintained in accordance with CM and DM plans.
  • Perform Hands-on Data Processing: Be prepared, willing, and able to perform hands-on data processing in PDM/PLM toolsets to support the CM team during busy periods of work.
  • Maintain Programme Alignment: Maintain programme alignment by establishing communications with programme personnel as well as through CMDM functional management. This includes interface with Supply Chain Management as well as staff at suppliers or sub-contractors.
  • Provide Performance-Related Data: Provide performance-related data to support Estimate to Complete (ETC) information required by the programme. This includes creating and maintaining performance metrics.
  • Review and Update Processes: Review, update, and where required create and establish new processes for configuration identification, control, change management, status accounting, and auditing for development and operational systems.
  • Verify Compliance: Verify that CM and DM processes show compliance with company, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of CMMI, ISO 9000, MAOS, and DAOS Requirements: Knowledge of CMMI, ISO 9000, MAOS, and DAOS requirements, be able to effectively influence, interface, and communicate with multiple levels of management and colleagues in other engineering disciplines.
  • Conversant with CM Standards: Conversant with and practical knowledge of CM Standards, eg Def Stan 05-57 and 05-123, EIA 649, ISO 10008, ITIL, etc.
