Electrical Machines Design Engineer

Turntide Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Machines Design Engineer to join our team in Gateshead. As a key member of our Transport group, you will be responsible for designing and developing axial flux motors, as well as supporting current machine design optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop motors from concept to production, ensuring high-quality and efficient performance.
  • Contribute to the creation of project plans, including technical delivery, time plans, and budgeting.
  • Support the Quality department in investigations and inspection activities, as well as assist with improvements to company processes and procedures.
  • Participate in feasibility studies to support commercial opportunities, including the creation of proof-of-concept designs and supporting design calculations.
  • Design support of products through multiple development phases, including design, prototyping, and validation testing sequences.
Requirements:
  • Industry experience as a Motor Design Engineer.
  • Proficient knowledge of Ansys Motor Design software or similar.
  • Simulation experience with eMag & Thermal design of machines.
  • Excellent understanding of fundamental eMag principles, as well as application to design objectives.
  • Strong electromagnetic design and modelling experience.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with prototype build phases or within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Axial flux machines.
  • Experience with Failure mode analysis.

  • Able to travel both within and outside of the UK.
