About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at IQE, a leading supplier of compound semiconductor wafer products and advanced material solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in InP and/or GaN and a strong understanding of MOVPE reactor operations.

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the efficient implementation and day-to-day operation of all assigned MOVPE reactors. You will work closely with the Technology and Planning teams to ensure that all customer requirements are met, and you will provide technical input for process development activities and participate in continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality and Specification: Ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and specification.
  • Reactor Operations: Responsible for the operation of multiple MOCVD reactors and products as necessary.
  • Customer Requirements: Work with the Technology and Planning teams to ensure that all customer requirements are met in full, on time, and to plan.
  • New Product Quotations: Participate in the new product quotation process and provide technical input.
  • Run Sequence Planning: Estimate the run sequence required for given campaigns and review this against the campaign plan to align expectations.
  • Customer Communication: Generate customer CofCs as necessary and engage in the review of production material prior to shipment.
  • Product Release: Inspect all pertinent production and characterization data and authorize the release of product to the customer.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support for issues arising in connection with the operation of the bays.
  • Technical Data Management: Ensure that technical data (internal/external characterization, customer feedback) is used in an effective manner.
  • Escalation Assistance: Assist the shift production engineering team with problem-solving activities out of hours.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on product and production-related data (including for customers) as required.
  • Reactor Performance Monitoring: Monitor reactor performance, including SPC charts, and identify solutions to production problems.
  • Process Development: Participate in yield and process improvement programs.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all internal safety, HR, environmental, and quality guidelines and procedures.
About You
  • Education: Graduate in a scientific or engineering discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant semiconductor technology/growth experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in MOCVD growth experience required, with InP growth experience preferred.
  • Skills: Problem-solving and analysis skills are essential.
