About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Caretaker to join our team at Eastgate Residential Home in Stoke-on-Trent. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the property, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly Health and Safety checks and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and take corrective action
  • Perform general caretaking duties, including basic repairs, cleaning, landscaping, and grounds maintenance
  • Manage and maintain an adequate supply of tools and equipment, restocking as necessary
  • Record and report daily work activities, providing timely updates to management
  • Identify and report potential maintenance issues to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar caretaking or maintenance role is essential
  • Ability to identify and/or carry out minor repairs
  • Understanding of basic health and safety principles in the workplace
  • Practical experience in operating hand tools and light machinery is desirable
  • Strong communication and organisational skills are required for this role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
