About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Commercial Operations to join our team at Field. As a key member of our commercial operations team, you will be responsible for the commercial management of our growing portfolio of BESS assets.

You will be responsible for ensuring our assets are ready to generate revenue as soon as they are commissioned, working in partnership with our asset managers to ensure best-in-class asset availability, and optimising commercial performance through continuous improvement of our 3rd party optimisers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Asset Management: Ensure our assets are ready to generate revenue as soon as they are commissioned, including applying for generation licences, managing the Capacity Market process, and interfacing with our construction and trading teams.
  • Asset Availability: Work with our asset managers to ensure best-in-class asset availability and minimal ancillary services penalties, including tightly managing our operations contracts and working with our data engineering team to monitor operational performance.
  • Commercial Optimisation: Optimise commercial performance through continuous improvement of our 3rd party optimisers, including seeking to continuously improve our 3rd party Optimisers and ensuring our assets are available to participate in ancillary services markets as soon as they are launched.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain regulatory compliance of our assets, including chairing monthly asset management reviews to report performance to the Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Experience: Significant experience of managing a portfolio of operational energy assets, including experience with BESS and a solid understanding of the GB electricity market.
  • Skills: Excellent communications skills, including the ability to work in partnership with our asset managers and other stakeholders.
