About the RoleWe are looking for a seasoned professional to oversee the Product Development and Production process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet our design vision and margin targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PD and Production, ideally within the luxury leather goods sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the PD and Production team, overseeing all aspects of operations, including raw material sourcing, product development, production, and on-time deliveries. They will also collaborate closely with our design team to ensure the design vision is well executed and key dates are met.
The role requires a highly organized and motivated individual with excellent communication skills, able to juggle multiple tasks effectively and work to tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment. Regular travel will be required to attend trade fairs and meet suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the PD and Production team, overseeing all aspects of operations.
- Supervise the Product Development, Sourcing, and Production process from sketch to delivery.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure the design vision is well executed.
- Liaise with Merchandising, Ecommerce, Wholesale, and Marketing teams to update status and meet deadlines.
- Contribute to and lead on our sourcing and supplier strategy.
- Proactively address PD and Production issues and support the team to resolve them.
- Understand supplier capabilities, material, and production challenges, and support in finding solutions.
- Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring adherence to critical path and delivering exceptional quality.
- Monitor department KPIs against the plan, ensuring we achieve our goals.
- Continually source new suppliers for improved innovation, quality, price, and delivery.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers globally.
- Strive to extend product life, supporting the brand to become market leaders in product longevity.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and sustainable practices, integrating them into our sourcing and production strategies to drive innovation and social responsibility.
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in PD and Production, ideally within the luxury leather goods sector. The ideal candidate will have significant experience (10 years+) in a similar role, with experience of managing small teams.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, and driven for success. They will also have strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to adapt well to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
