Claims Resolution Specialist

Job Description
Browne Jacobson is a UK-based law firm with an international reach, offering a unique blend of business and social expertise. As a Claims Resolution Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering a first-class claims handling, resolution, and management service for a market-leading professional indemnity insurer.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate professional liability claims, determine insurance policy coverage, and set strategy for resolution and insurer reserves.
- Liaise with insureds and their insurance brokers to forge strong commercial relationships.
- Work closely with lawyers in the Financial & Professional Risks team and escalate matters as necessary.
- Update computer and paper records with claim details.
- Keep insureds and brokers informed of claim status in accordance with client service level agreements.
- Proactively and efficiently manage claims.
Requirements
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Advanced keyboard skills and ability to produce correspondence and documentation.
- Professional indemnity experience, especially handling solicitors claims.
- Experience in dealing with claims handling aspects of a file.
- Previous experience of defending insurance claims.
- Previous experience in an FCA-regulated environment is an advantage.

- Degree or insurance qualifications preferred.
- Strong legal and analytical skills to assess claim merits and understand insured clients' liabilities.
- Ability to work efficiently and methodically to manage caseload and use initiative.
- Willingness and ability to learn, given the dynamic nature of the law.
- Confidence, drive, and ambition.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in decision-making.
