About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Consultant in Ophthalmology, with a subspecialty interest in Cornea. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, managing a diverse range of ophthalmic conditions, and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities

The main duties of the post will include:

Supporting the provision of General Ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest in Cornea or any other subspecialty which complements the department.

Delivery of outpatient clinics and day case surgery.

Urgent and Emergency Care duties, including out-of-hours on-call; schedules will take due account of the provisions of working time regulations and safe working.

On-call duties are currently shared with 8 other colleagues on a rota, currently assessed as PA.

Core Supporting Professional Activities will be offered to the successful candidate for which appropriate objectives will be agreed in accordance with the Trust Framework* and national Terms and Conditions of Service with additional PA for extra roles like Lead for service etc.

Examples may include formal teaching responsibilities or departmental leadership roles.
