We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Estates & Facilities Team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and carrying out minor repairs, ensuring safe working practices, and performing statutory checks.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and carry out minor repairs in various areas, including plumbing, joinery, engineering, electrical, vehicles, play equipment, and internal decoration.
- Develop and implement a program of scheduled maintenance for all areas of the hospice, including decoration, refurbishment, and rebuilding work.
- Liaise with external contractors, oversee their work, and ensure compliance with hospice policies while on site.
- Perform various painting and redecoration tasks, including wallpapering, painting with different paints, varnishes, and finishes both inside and outside.
- Competent in minor property maintenance issues, plant, electrical, engineering, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislative requirements.
- Experience of dealing with the public, including adults and children.
- Experience of managing contractors.
- Qualification in PAT testing.
- Experience of pool maintenance.
- Painting and decorating experience.
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People provides specialist end-of-life, palliative, and respite care to babies, children, and young people with conditions that mean their lives may be shorter than most.
