We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Capability Expert to join our team at Leonardo.

As a key member of the Capability Team, you will provide technical support to the business in the area of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).

Your responsibilities will include linking FCAS requirements with technical capability across Leonardo UK and the wider FCAS Industry Partners, identifying gaps in capability and supporting proposals to find solutions and address technical challenges.

You will also collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel within the organisation and with external stakeholders such as MoD, Dstl and other FCAS Industry Partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure continuity between the Concepting and Technology Capability pillars within FCAS-AP and FCAS TI/Team TEMPEST.
  • Collaborate across the business to identify and explore gaps in capability and products, define and agree technical requirements, and identify appropriate technical solutions.
  • Support technology roadmaps, which identify maturity and planned insertion points in the product roadmap to support stakeholder review.
  • Support tri-national engagement with roadmaps to identify appropriate solution paths to delivery of the products.
  • Facilitate technical reviews to provide a coherent review process for internal and external stakeholders including MoD.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree educated or equivalent, with career experience in the defence industry.
  • Demonstrated experience of building effective relationships with relevant project stakeholders across Government and Industry Partners.
  • Experience in the Concepting and/or early Technology Development stages of a Programme lifecycle would be beneficial.

A competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience, is offered. Benefits include flexible working hours, company funded flexible benefits, holidays, pension, wellbeing support and training opportunities.
