The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Group Architecture and Engineering function. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of cloud technologies, working closely with our business colleagues to deliver innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and deployment of cloud technologies, including AKS, IaC, and pipelines.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to our cloud engineering team, setting standards and best practices for cloud technology adoption.
  • Work closely with our business colleagues to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and risks within our cloud infrastructure and direct follow-up remediation activities.
  • Advise and assist our Group Engineering teams in developing cloud solutions.
  • Undertake consultative engagements with teams across the wider business as a subject matter expert.
  • Scope cloud infrastructure deployments and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify potential optimizations to solutions and tooling throughout their life cycle.
  • Proactively consider and assess the security posture of applications and the tooling used to build and support them.
  • Work in an agile, collaborative manner and be adaptable to changing scenarios.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including AKS and IaC.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and other cloud infrastructure tools.
  • Prior experience of Kubernetes and other cloud technologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to review and analyze complex technical information and provide recommendations.
