Global Edge Group is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability for energy projects.
Key Responsibilities- Environmental Impact Assessment: Conduct thorough environmental impact assessments for project activities, identifying potential environmental impacts and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Manage the permitting process, securing all necessary environmental permits and approvals from relevant authorities. Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental regulations throughout the project.
- Develop Project Environmental Plans: Develop and deliver project environmental plans and deliverables, including Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), Waste Management Plans (WMPs), and other relevant documents.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders on environmental issues related to the project, including regulators, clients, contractors, and NGOs.
- Incident Response and Reporting: Develop and implement incident response plans for environmental incidents and ensure timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
- Environmental Training and Compliance: Develop and provide environmental training, coach and support HSE team members on environmental requirements, and develop and implement environmental compliance audit and monitoring processes.
- Environmental Management System (EMS): Assist in implementing and maintaining the EMS across the organization, working towards ISO 14001 compliance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, or related field, with a preference for a master's degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the oil and gas or renewable energy sector.
- Certifications: ISO 14001:2015 internal/external auditor certification is preferred. Associate member/member of marine/engineering/environmental professional institute is preferred.
