Company Introduction

We are seeking a skilled Test Support Engineer to join our team for a six-month contract. Our client is a sector-leading manufacturing company that produces world-leading satellite payloads.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
  1. Work as a member of the Assembly Integration and Test team with Mechanical and Electrical specialists to produce world-leading satellite payloads.
  2. Supervise test execution activities within the payload facility and provide first-line support across all test phases and projects.
  3. Drive continuous improvements and reduce non-quality in electrical and RF test operations.
  4. Manage all cleanroom operational processes owned by the payload test team for all payload test phases.
  5. Work with Lead Engineers to agree the daily contract of work to be carried out and highlight any difficulties based on resource, tools, and means.
  6. Support the RF Lead in forward planning and ensure that paperwork, test aids are available for upcoming tests.
  7. Drive testing locally in the cleanroom and ensure that all tasks are pursued continuously and efficiently.
  8. Red-line procedures and Work Orders in agreement with the RF Lead, process owner, or process manager.
  9. Ensure that the correct test aids are available for project test phases and investigations.
  10. Work with Lead Engineers to prepare new test phases, including the setup of new Equipment, Hardware, and Software.
  11. Act as the payload test team Interface with Operations team at shop floor level for Test operational tasks.
  12. Support the operations team by ensuring that test priorities are clearly understood and escalate immediately when a priority task cannot be carried out.
  13. Monitor the team as they carry out tasks and ensure they are completed and in line with the set duration.
  14. Act as a focal point to provide supplementary test reference material required for efficient execution of test phases.
  15. First-line filter for test-related issues and escalate issues that cannot be resolved locally to the correct job function.
  16. Coordinate investigations and 'non-standard' work instructions, provide process knowledge and support to both internal test teams and systems engineering teams.
  17. Coordinate EMC investigations working closely with EMC engineering teams.
Required Skills/Experience
  1. Electrical and/or RF Engineering skills.
  2. Experience in Electrical Test environment.
  3. Strong Electrical/RF test measurement experience.
  4. Problem-solving aptitudes.
  5. Clear and confident communication with team.
  6. Clear and concise presentation of project status to peers, managers, and internal customers.
  7. Comfortable dealing with challenging situations and challenging discipline.
  8. Good time management to ensure the team is always working and tasks are ready for the next operator.
  9. Positive and constructive feedback to local team.
  10. Understanding of technical documents, drawings, procedures, etc.
  11. Experience of procedure/process control.
  12. Workplace health and safety awareness.
