Senior Democratic Services Officer

Are you looking for a challenging role in local government where you can develop your skills and knowledge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract and Service Development Officer to join our team at the Association of Democratic Services Officers.
This role is a great chance to start your career in local government and work with a experienced team to build capacity and enable workforce planning. You will provide support to the council democratic processes, including decision-making arrangements involving elected Members, and provide reliable advice and support to Members and others as necessary.
We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to team working, and a flexible approach to work. If you have a good knowledge of the law relating to Council committee meetings and experience of supporting committees within a political environment, that's a bonus, but not essential. We will provide training and support to develop you into the role.
This is a permanent, part-time role with 30 hours per week. You will be required to work out of normal office hours during the week, as dictated by the requirements of the service.
