Principal/Associate Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant

We are seeking an experienced individual with a strong track record in delivering and project managing EIA projects to join our team. Our current projects include sustainable energy projects, major motorway junction improvements, nationally significant rail projects, and coastal defence projects.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an environmental discipline, chartered, and have a comprehensive understanding of all the technical expertise required for the preparation and management of EIAs and the environmental assessment of large infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Leading on the coordination and delivery of environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams;
- Project managing teams of environmental professionals;
- Responsibility for programme and commercial management aspects of projects including budget control;
- Championing high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects;
- Competently undertaking own work to an excellent standard, and reviewing the work of others, on time and to budget;
- Able to manage clients' needs in a confident, professional manner;
- Leading on bid preparation and developing new areas of business for the team;
- Undertaking Continual Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute;
- Mentoring and assisting with staff development.
- Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject;
- Experience working on the delivery of EIAs for major infrastructure projects;
- Comprehensive knowledge of the UK EIA process and associated legislation;
- Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills and able to review the work of others to ensure quality;
- Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure;
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively;
- Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges;
- Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.
