Principal Piping and Drumming Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Piping and Drumming Educator to join our team at West Lothian Instrumental Music Service. As an Area Ensemble Coach, you will be responsible for providing expert tuition in pipe band drumming and bagpipes within the Area Ensemble Piping and Drumming program.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong passion for music education and a commitment to excellence. You will work closely with the conductor to ensure the highest standards of performance and musicality, while also assisting with the full ensemble as required.

• Provide expert tuition in pipe band drumming and bagpipes to students within the Area Ensemble Piping and Drumming program
• Work closely with the conductor to develop and implement high-quality musical content
• Assist with the full ensemble as required, including rehearsals and performances

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A strong background in piping and drumming, with extensive experience in teaching and performing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external partners
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in music education
