Job Summary:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to support the development and success of students with various additional needs in Essex and Kent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through regular observations, tests, and assessments, providing feedback and reports.
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN, setting achievable and realistic goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, attendance, and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with other school staff, parents, and external agencies to support students' learning and development.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices and new teaching methods in SEN education.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide emotional and academic support to students, helping them to build confidence and develop social skills.
  • Promote, support, and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Utilise appropriate technical and educational resources to enhance teaching and support learning.

Requirements:

  • Clear enhanced DBS and QTS required.
  • Experience as a SEN Teacher, working with pupils with various additional needs.
