Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Community Mission Development Lead to manage and develop the existing church mission and outreach programmes. This role is responsible for serving and supporting those in the local and wider community, providing safe spaces where all people are loved, nurtured, encouraged, and supported to become the people God wants them to be.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet the needs of the local community, providing a pathway for people to access and integrate into the church.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the community centre's activities in line with relevant legislation, best practices, and the aims & policies of The Salvation Army.
  • Manage the running of the community café, including ordering food, maintaining equipment and being available to support pastorally & practically those coming in seeking assistance.
  • Assess the needs of the community and make recommendations for the overall community centre programme agenda in alignment with the Corps Mission Journal.
  • Plan, design, implement and evaluate specific programmes to ensure they are fit for purpose for the local community.

Requirements:

  • A strong, vibrant Christian faith & be a practising Christian.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A passion to support people.
  • The ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

Occupational Requirement: There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian.
