Payroll Manager

Kenton Black Finance is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our team. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll for approximately 300 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:- Process payroll for all employees, including regular pay, overtime, bonuses, and other pay items.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll amendments, including starters, leavers, contract changes, salary changes, and tax code changes.
- Maintain employee attendance records and manage holiday, absence, and overtime payments.
- Prepare and submit payroll returns (P60s and P11Ds), ensuring accuracy and timeliness to avoid penalties.
- Administer auto-enrolment pension scheme, including assessment, correspondence, and submission of monthly pension contributions.
- Conduct regular monitoring checks to ensure any changes are monitored and controlled, and employees are accurately paid and in line with government regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive guidance notes on payroll procedures, ensuring that these reflect changes to company policy and employment regulations.
- Work closely with our payroll software provider regarding system upgrades and developments.
- Liaise with payroll providers for approximately 5 overseas employees.
- Address any payroll-related enquiries or issues from regulatory agencies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Produce information for inclusion in financial reporting and wider payroll reporting.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks.
- Experience of managing end-to-end in-house payrolls with up-to-date knowledge of current regulations affecting employee benefits, deductions, and general payroll processes.
- Skilled at identifying potential payroll discrepancies and addressing them proactively.
- Working knowledge of Advanced Payroll (Mitrefinch and Flexipay) is desirable but not essential.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets, records, and reports.
- Customer-oriented mindset to provide support to employees and managers with their payroll enquiries and concerns.
