Lead a Team of Urban Designers

Hunter Dunning Ltd seeks an experienced Senior Urban Design Lead to join their Cambridge-based consultancy. This role offers a collaborative and innovative work environment, where you will lead impactful projects in residential, renewable energy, and community sectors.

Salary & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, profit-related bonus scheme, private healthcare and life assurance, 7% employer pension contribution, professional fees covered, hybrid working with 2 remote days per week, and 37 days total holiday.

About the Role

You will oversee large-scale masterplans and residential layout design, develop strategic documents including vision statements and design codes, and work directly with clients to ensure project goals alignment. Collaborating with the Urbanism team and managing small teams are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements
  • Degree, Masters, or Diploma in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of UK project experience
  • Background in private practice, consultancy, or commercial housebuilding
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Familiarity with local authority guidelines and planning systems
  • Strong communication and detail-oriented skills
