As a Technical Assurance Engineer at BAE Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products.

The Product Safety team works closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety strategies that meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

Your responsibilities will include facilitating HAZIDs and review meetings, developing safety arguments, and supporting the management of hazards, risks, and associated mitigations.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on the Canadian River Class Destroyer programme, a significant global naval project with opportunities for international travel and exposure across the business.

The estimated salary for this position is £56,500 - £61,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

About the Role:

  • Leading the development of safety strategies and plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement safety processes and produce deliverables.
  • Providing technical expertise to support the management of hazards, risks, and associated mitigations.

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in product safety management processes and techniques.
  • Familiarity with report writing and developing safety arguments.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience leading hazard identification meetings.
  • Background within a Naval/Maritime environment or similar highly regulated industry.

About You:

We are looking for candidates who are degree-qualified or have equivalent experience, preferably in technology, engineering, science, or IT-related disciplines. Chartered Engineers or those holding equivalent professional registrations with relevant institutions are also encouraged to apply.
