About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join our Group Finance team at our Waterside Head office. The successful candidate will lead the SSC Finance Team across both Financial Control and Commercial Finance for the shared service centre business costs.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned finance professional with strengths in both technical and commercial accounting. They will possess strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. As well as this, they will excel in communication, conveying complex financial information to various stakeholders.

This is a permanent office-based position, offering flexibility with preferred starting times between 8am-10am Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the SSC Finance Team, including Management Accounts and Commercial Finance
  • Standardise and rationalise processes, ensuring they are documented and satisfy relevant financial control requirements
  • Ensure the team prepares monthly management accounts using SAP systems and performs associated balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare P&L visibility to department budget holders and hold regular meetings to discuss variance analysis and financial planning
  • Highlight potential cost-saving opportunities and work with relevant departments on modelling and business cases to support controlling business costs
  • Feed into group consolidation of actuals, budget, and forecast
  • Oversee the purchase order process across departments, including training, policy, and approval matrix
  • Support the Group Financial Controller with ad-hoc duties as required
  • Continued development of finance staff
  • Assist in continuous improvements in month-end controls and improvement to a SOX level

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Technically strong
  • Previous industry experience in a Group accounting function (desirable)
  • Extensive experience in leadership and management
  • Experience in compliance and audit management
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Experience in process mapping and improvements
  • Previous risk management experience
  • Finance Systems Expertise
