Job Title: Head of Strategic Procurement

Morgan Hunt Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading housing association to recruit a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Strategic Procurement. This role is pivotal in delivering a top-tier procurement service that balances cost, quality, and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the organisation's Supply Chain Strategy, ensuring compliance with UK procurement regulations and a focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.
  • Oversee supplier engagement, contract management, and governance to ensure cost efficiency and compliance across all procurement activities.
  • Lead strategic negotiations on high-value and high-risk contracts, ensuring value for money while aligning with organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including suppliers and stakeholders, to enhance procurement processes and align with the business plan.
  • Provide leadership to the procurement team, ensuring continuous development, training, and mentorship. Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • MCIPS qualification or MSc in Supply Chain Management (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience managing procurement in both the public and private sectors, with a strong background in contract law, category management, and supply chain management.
  • Proven track record in leading procurement strategies, negotiating major contracts, and delivering business objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams and drive innovation in procurement practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience in executive reporting.
