Evaluate and improve shop floor efficiency by identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Reduce waste, labour inefficiencies, and energy consumption, and optimize resources.
Drive Health and Safety Improvements by identifying risks and developing preventative measures and implementing best practices that comply with regulatory standards.
Implement 5C Methodology and Shop Floor Organisation.
Lead Continuous Improvement Projects ranging from project optimisations and equipment upgrades to employee training initiatives.
Facilitate Kaizen Events; organise and lead Kaizen or similar improvement workshops to engage employees in identifying opportunities for improvement.
Monitor and analyse KPIs such as cycle times, productivity, and safety metrics.
Champion CI culture including providing training and mentorship to build internal capability in CI tools and methodologies.
Ensure compliance and quality standards are met: ensure that all changes comply with industry standards and customer specifications.
Communicate and collaborate with leadership. Regularly report to management on the status of improvements.

Requirements:
Practical knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and waste reduction strategies.
Experience leading safety initiatives or collaborating with health and safety teams in a fabrication or manufacturing setting.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple small-scale projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence staff at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to troubleshooting operational challenges.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and the use of metrics to drive decision-making.
Ability to lead training and development workshops on CI principles and foster employee engagement in improvement.

Desirable:
Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) qualified (or equivalent).
Familiarity with metal fabrication processes, tools, and equipment.
Experience working in SME organisations would be highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shop floor management software (e.g. ERP/MRP systems).
