About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Homelessness, Independence and Preventative Services team at the London Borough of Hounslow. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our approach to homelessness prevention and solutions.

With extensive knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, you will lead our efforts to reduce homelessness and provide effective support to vulnerable individuals and families.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality services, with experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams and working with complex needs and diverse client groups.

You will work closely with other Heads of Services to support and lead aspects of our improvement programme, driving continuous improvement to a first-class, modern, and flexible prevention-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of our homelessness prevention and solutions strategy, ensuring alignment with council objectives and priorities.
  • Directly manage Service Managers and oversee the delivery of statutory and non-statutory homelessness and prevention services.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments, external agencies, and government departments to achieve strategic objectives and drive positive outcomes for residents.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of homelessness legislation and policy, with experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams and working with complex needs and diverse client groups.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to deliver high-quality services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends to inform service delivery.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
