Test Automation Lead

At Two Circles, we're expanding our software engineering capability and seeking an experienced Test Automation Lead to join our London office. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in designing and implementing our test automation strategy, driving technical excellence, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Leads, and Product Managers to define technical scope and develop testing strategies for global sports properties.
  • Design, build, and deliver testing solutions, ensuring best practices in coding standards and streamlining the creation of acceptance and testing criteria.
  • Lead the design of software architecture, both in-house and with clients, and influence the hiring of other Software Engineers.
  • Advocate for developer experience and continuously improve it, promoting a blameless culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Work in a hybrid role, with 2 days a week in our London office and occasional travel to client offices in London and EMEA.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in test automation engineering.
  • High-level experience in agile development practices, continuous integration, and test automation via various methods.
  • Shift-left approach with a focus on defect prevention.
  • Experience in microservices environments, designing testing plans to prevent breaking changes and ensure services are performant and resilient.
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud-based testing tools, API testing tools, and performance and load testing suites.
  • Ability to observe application performance and health via tools like Prometheus, Data Dog, Sentry, and Grafana.
  • Experience in CI/CD environments, utilizing tools like Circle CI, GitHub actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Appreciation of DevOps and platform engineering culture.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain solutions and collaborate effectively with others.
