About the Job:
A Senior Commercial Lawyer is required to support our client's mission to shape the future of renewable energy. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking and confident legal professional with experience in commercial law.
- Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating contracts with business partners, suppliers, and customers
- Providing legal advice and support on various matters such as contracts, compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance
- Managing a suite of standard contract templates to support project development
- Collaborating closely with the management team to provide legal support for future growth
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Providing general and commercial legal support to businesses within the group
- Identifying and mitigating risk areas in collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the business
- Assisting with company secretarial matters and document management
- Becoming an expert resource for the group on complex regulation in the electricity sector
- Assisting with the delivery of risk management strategies and compliance across the company
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background
- Experience practising commercial law, preferably in the energy or construction sector
- Renewable energy experience is preferred, but a strong interest in the sector would be enough for the right person
- Knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and compliance
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in the electricity storage and/or generation sectors, or demonstrable experience in managing complex regulatory issues, would be a significant advantage
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to act with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong commercial awareness
Salary and Benefits:
This position offers a highly competitive salary range of £70,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including enhanced pension scheme, private medical insurance, annual bonus, cycle to work scheme, and profit sharing (for some roles, to be discussed at interview).
