Substitute Teacher

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Substitute Teacher to join our team at the Archdiocese of San Antonio. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for enabling each child to pursue their education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of their regular teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Support and adhere to the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees and policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters
- Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students
- Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or during before and after school programs
- Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
- Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration
- Use approved, corrective, and positive discipline procedures in dealing with inappropriate student conduct
- Collaborate with school personnel to enhance the work environment and support academic programming
- Adhere to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in substituting or teaching experience preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
