Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at an outstanding SEN Primary School in Crawley. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in delivering a broad curriculum to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), mobility challenges, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist class teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a variety of subjects tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with autism, SLD, PMLD, and other additional needs
  • Support students with mobility and personal care requirements, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the school day
  • Manage and de-escalate behavioural challenges in a positive and proactive manner
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all pupils
  • Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic & Energetic Individuals: Someone who is passionate about working with children with additional needs and can bring positivity and patience to the role
  • Experience with SEN: Previous experience working with children who have autism, SLD, PMLD, or behavioural challenges is highly desirable
  • Team Player: The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the best possible support
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Resilience & Patience: Candidates must be adaptable and prepared to work with children who have complex learning and physical needs
