Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to lead our school age immunisation programmes. The successful candidate will have expertise in immunisation procedures and processes, as well as a sound clinical knowledge of immunology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide clinical leadership to the immunisation team, utilising specialist expertise and knowledge in immunisations and immunisation programmes for school age children and young people.
  2. Work in partnership with children, young people, families, and multi-agency services to support healthy outcomes for this client group.
  3. Identify vulnerable children and young people and play an integral role within the safeguarding process.
  4. Act as the lead nurse in the organisation and delivery of immunisation sessions, delegating as appropriate.
  5. Maintain the cold chain process for all immunisations, manage equipment and resources effectively to avoid waste and promote cost efficiency.
  6. Comply with the Medicines Management Standards throughout the process, including contraindications to vaccination.
  7. Ensure statutory training is up to date.
  8. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous documentation in accordance with local policy and work within all aspects of the NMC Code of Conduct.
